MARATHON, Ontario –  The 萝莉原创 (萝莉原创) is pleased to announce that student Mitchel Hatton has been appointed to the National Youth Advisory Committee for the Promoting Relationships & Eliminating Violence Network (PREVNet).

The National Youth Advisory Committee (NYAC) is established by PREVNet as part of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit’s National Community of Practice project.  PREVNet is a national network of leading researchers and organizations, working together to stop bullying in Canada.  It is the first of its kind in this country and a world leader in bullying prevention.  The NYAC provides students an opportunity to connect with diverse youth across Canada, learn new skills and build meaningful resources for youth, by youth.

Mitchel, a Grade 12 student with 萝莉原创, will represent the youth of Northern Ontario on the NYAC for a one-year term.  Currently Mitchel is the President of the Marathon High School Students’ Council and the student representative on the School Council.  In his role, he has successfully collaborated with others to provide numerous events, initiatives, and activities that help students connect and provide a sense of belonging.  Mitchel is also an active volunteer and works with a number of organizations within his community.  His school leadership has also led to an opportunity as a Student Counselor for the Township of Marathon.

Director or Education, Nicole Morden Cormier stated that she is “delighted that Mitchel has been appointed to the National Youth Advisory Council.”  She stated that “he is an extremely dedicated student and contributes to his school community on a daily basis.  We are proud of his accomplishments and to have him represent 萝莉原创 on the National Youth Advisory Committee.
